You may request a closed wiki be reopened (if you are not a bureaucrat) if it was closed due to inactivity or closed manually by a bureaucrat. Please consider the below for what this page cannot support.
Wikis that are set to private cannot be adopted due to privacy! You must be a registered user to request a reopening. To make a request, copy the following code, and place it at the very bottom of this page. Replace every section as needed: {{subst::Requests for reopening wikis/boilerplate
|wiki = SUBDOMAIN HERE <!--Replace this with the subdomain of the wiki. Do not include the ".miraheze.org" part-->

- Wiki: undumped.skywiki.org (On wiki: ManageWiki (e, n, p, s) • ManageWiki log • Recent Changes - On Meta: Wiki request • ManageWiki/core)
- Username: Awesome Christian 1010 (userrights)
- Are you a bureaucrat? (yes/no): No
- Reason: I saw that the wiki was closed manually by Onmp314 back when I saw it on December 19th, 2024. I tried to talk to him on his user talk page, but he didn't respond to me. So, there were a lot of obscure undumped video games and platforms that are important to this wiki, and I use it for research, but closing the wiki manually and Onmp314 not needing it anymore is not a good way to do it. In fact, this wiki is still a work in progress and needs to have a lot of work done and more information about those undumped games and platforms.

youtube.miraheze.org
- Wiki: youtube.skywiki.org (On wiki: ManageWiki (e, n, p, s) • ManageWiki log • Recent Changes - On Meta: Wiki request • ManageWiki/core)
- Username: CarlFilip19 (userrights)
- Are you a bureaucrat? (yes/no): No, but I will only ask to be one if needed for the conditions below.
- Reason: Sad to see this wiki go inactive despite its potential to be something interesting. I want this one to be reopened on the following conditions:
- Its scope is to be changed to be only about channels, along with YouTube culture, like videos and shorts and technical details like the inner workings of YouTube, and to not be about real-life YouTubers unless if it goes hand-in-hand with writing about the channels, llike for how a channel is used to commentaries or acting. This is for the following reasons:
- To better stay within the scope of only cataloguing YouTube stuff. Instead of cataloguing trivial stuff which has nothing to do with YouTube, like what someone did as a child but never mentioned on YouTube, wiki editors will be more focused on sticking to just YouTube stuff.
- To comply with cases where cataloguing the YouTuber would be especially contentious, like if a channel has been created by someone younger than 13 years, then it would be much better to just respect their privacy.
- When writing about YouTubers, one has to be careful when writing about living people since they are vulnerable to defamation (and many YouTubers are alive too), making it quite dangerous to say anything false about them. By only talking about their channels, this becomes less of a concern.
- To prevent undue weight on the whole life of someone who has a channel, but is better known for other things like the music or film industries, and who has barely posted anything on YouTube but still has many subscribers.
- Articles about fictional YouTubers, like Purple Shep of [PurpleShepYT] and Kizuna AI of [A.I.Channel], will be allowed as long as they come from YouTube.
- That I gain the ability to do the following things:
- The ManageWiki extension, so that I can do things like change the looks of the wiki, as well as tweak user roles and how they interact with the wiki (maybe I will make it take longer or shorter for users to become autoconfirmed users, especially against cheesing their way to this role).
- The ability to create abuse filters, which I can use in bans, filtering out stuff like editorializing (notably, arguably) and euphenisms (passed away, collateral damage) from articles, and to control how people may upload stuff.
- At least sysop permissions, so that I can edit fully protected pages, protect pages, and hide revisions for reasons like that they infringe on text-based copyrights.
- Additional things I may do to the wiki include:
- Change the wiki's name to something more clever.
- Have sactions, such as blocks and bans, be primarily preventative rather than punitive, to be lesss likely to disgust good-faith users and to get more help with building up the wiki.
- Deleting a lot of the already-existing pages. The problem is that a lot of them copy from other wikis without attributing them[a 1].
- Have a stricter copyright policy, requiring that all uploads be licensed and attributed to their authors as well as possible. I will also cut down on any fair use uploads since fair use is a risky doctrine. For example, uploads under any Creative Commons license will be fine, but the ones under non-free licenses will be limited in their use.
- Start with the most subscribed channels and then go down. It is like starting with all channels with at least 10^8 subscribers (based on the Red Diamond creator award) and then going down to 5*10^7 subscribers (based on the custom creator award).
- Have YouTubers be strictly called "creators", unless if a context contains non-YouTube creators, because it is alliterative with channel by one letter, and YouTube is officially using that term for users of YouTube.
- However, images in article infoboxes may depict creators if such images are the same or strongly similar (like a free alternative to a channel icon of an unknown copyright) to the icon of the channel of the article.
- Have categories be based on only channels (like "Channels of the United States" or "Comedy channels"), and only be about creators if it benefits wiki policy (like "Living creators" to assist a policy on biographies of living persons) or for cases of fictional creators.
- I do not want there to be any trivia sections in articles, since they risk lowering an articles quality, like including info that is already in other articles or introducing potentially out-of-scope stuff.
- I will control copying stuff from other wikis, all to make the wiki more unique and to prevent copying text from uncompliant sources, like from wikis under GFDL or CC BY-NC-SA. For example, while I may take modules and templates from Wikipedia (like the page protection temples and technical modules), as long as I attribute the wiki and admit that the copied text is under the same license, but I will discourage copying Wikipedia text onto articles. By the way, the wiki's license will still be a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/), so yeah.
By the way, here are important definitions: a channel is an account, a tool used by people to contribute to YouTube's community, and a creator is a user of YouTube, a person. Here is an example of how an article about a channel can be written:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cibWdOrTPmE7mvhWdRh45gndM6BY454O48_SLoir3hY/edit?usp=sharing
Citations will be added when a real article has been made out of the example, but I want to use Wikipedia's "cite web" template for it instead of bare URLs. I promise to respect copyrights when editing the wiki, as well as to attribute as well as I can. Time to see how well this idea for a YouTube wiki can go, thanks to the effective counter-vandalism features of Miraheze as well as to some cool extensions like the ManageWiki one.
- Notes
- ↑ For example, some pages contain stuff from Wikipedia, which is under CC BY-SA 4.0 (also the default license of Miraheze wikis), yet the pages do not attribute Wikipedia per the attribution clause of its license.

- Username: Jollyhedral (userrights)
- Are you a bureaucrat? (yes/no): No
- Reason: The Wayward Realms is a PC game in active development. This wiki is owned by the developers of the game, but members of the community are assisting the developers with collecting and archiving information as it is released. I may be the only individual actively contributing at the moment, and I have been busy with school recently and unable to contribute to the wiki as a result. Thank you for your consideration! And apologies if the request looks crazy - I've never filled out a request like this before.
- Jollyhedral (talk) 01:34, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- I'm unclear what you're requesting - the wiki is not closed, just set as inactive which can be resolved by any editor making an edit on the wiki. Is there something else you specifically are asking for here? --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 18:10, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- My apologies for the confusion; the wiki page had a warning about there being no edits within the last 60 days, and that warning had a link to this page to submit a request to reopen the wiki. That error message now just says it hasn't had any log activities in 45 days. I'm not sure what changed or why. Jollyhedral (talk) 15:57, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
- No worries, looks like you were able to make an edit. I've manually removed the inactivity flag, marking this request as Done. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 20:18, 8 February 2025 (UTC)

- I fixed the formatting for the request. @Nitro440440: you also requested another wiki (invention.miraheze.org) with the same description as for Inventions. Should Stewards close Invention (no s) since you are asking for Inventions (with an s) to be re-opened?
